"Bravo for the cd ! You do have your very own world, man - great! I especially liked Uraca & Halcyon Presence. Thank you."
                                                                     - Roland Dyens, France

"The performances obviously come from a very fine guitarist, the clarity of his right hand matched by the agility of the left."

                                                                      - Fanfare

The works of Ortiz openly display the roots and influences of Puerto Rican culture while the compositions of Piorkowski are "inspired by Shakespeare, Venezuela, and religious imagery when he sets out to work his magic" - El Nuevo Dia (San Juan).

The CD has been summed up as "Great music and wonderful musicians" - American Record Guide.

"One of the world's great guitar ensembles-just listen to this stunning material, which offers a glimpse of the instrument's potential in the 21st century. Artful programming and high musicianship make this one of the finest guitar ensemble performances in recent memory."

"Here's a quartet who can take a Telemann vivace at its word and yet milk the most sorrowful notes from Dowland. The excellent Buffalo Guitar Quartet take tons of care, balancing counterpoint, using sectional changes in color and phrase, and, most important, making the music swing. Bravo. They are learned and loads of fun." - American Record Guide
